He recently retired from the Department of Library and Information Science, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, where he served for 19+ years. Diljit was also previously Deputy Dean (Postgraduate) at the Faculty. He is currently an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Philippines (Diliman) in Manila. Prior to joining the university, Diljit served as a high school teacher, as Assistant Director in the Pahang State Education Department, and at the Aminuddin Baki Institute, Ministry of Education, Malaysia. Diljit holds a Bachelor of Science and a Diploma in Education from the University of Malaya, and a Master of Science and a Ph.D. from Florida State University, USA. Diljit is active in library associations at the local and international levels. He is the Immediate Past President of the International Association of School Librarianship (IASL). He has also served on the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions’ (IFLA) Standing Committees for Asia-Oceania, and for School Libraries. His professional and research interests include information literacy, management of libraries and information services, school libraries, and LIS education. He also has a keen interest in the effective and efficient use of information for socio-economic development.
After completely 25 years of joyful practice as a teacher librarian in K12 education, and several more as a public and special librarian, Joyce joined the faculty of Rutgers University where she prepares future librarians to lead cultures of literacy and engage communities. She writes the NeverendingSearch Blog for School Library Journal and contributes to several other library and edtech publications. Joyce speaks globally about the thoughtful use of technology in learning and the power of librarians to lead. Her research interests include: school librarianship, youth information seeking, educational technology, social media curation, OER, emerging literacies, social media and online communities of practice. Joyce Valenza is active in AASL, ALA, ALISE and ISTE.
Prof. Dr. Teoman DURALI
He was born in 1947 in Kozlu / Zonguldak. He attended primary school in Zonguldak Çatalağzı and his secondary school at TED Ankara College. He graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Philosophy in 1973. Duralı started working as a research assistant at Istanbul University in 1975 and got Ph.D. degree in 1977 with a thesis on biology philosophy. In 1978, he joined biotechnology seminars in Paris with NATO scholarship. He became an assistant professor in May 1982, an associate professor in biology philosophy in October 1982. He received professor title at PennState University with his study titled “Priory Information for Kant” in 1988.
He gave lectures at the International Islamic University of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur between 1992 and 1993, and at the University of Vienn in 1994 as a visiting scholar. In 1996, with the financial support of the Istanbul University Research Fund, he was on a research trip to the Central Asian Turkish Republics (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan). He worked as a visiting scholar in Malaysia from 1992 to 1999.
Saban Teoman Dural, gave lectures in twelve universities along with his lectures at Istanbul University, Philosophy Department in Turkey. He worked at Kırklareli University, where he found the Department of Philosophy, as a dean of Faculty of Science and Literature between 2009 and 2015. He is currently teaching in the philosophy departments of Istanbul University and Istanbul Civilization University.

Cem Gençoğlu was born in Turkey in 1977. He was graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University, Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance in 1999. Between 1999 and 2012, he worked as a school counselor and administrator at public schools. In 2012, after receiving PhD degree in Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance at Ondokuz Mayıs University, he was appointed as an associate professor at Ondokuz Mayıs University. During his profession, he was assigned as a member of the board of directors, and an assistant to rector. He served for different commissions of Board of Higher Education (YÖK), Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) and Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). From 2014 to 2015 he worked for the Ministry of National Education as a member of the Board of Education along with his academic position. During this profession he worked in South East European Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning (SEECEL) as a member of the board of directors representing Ministry of National Education (MoNE). Dr. Gençoğlu represents MoNE in national and international organizations such as Ethics Commission of Ministry of National Education, OECD Early Child Education Committee as the bureau member and Education Policy Advisors’ Network as the lead expert.
In 2016 he was appointed as the Director General of Basic Education, Ministry of National Education. He still lectures at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Education.
