Information, Innovation & Impact of School Libraries
Z-libraries project started in 2014 and was influential throught Turkey within a
short time. In 2015, at the IASL Conference in Maastricht the negotiations for
hosting the conference in Turkey began. With the initiatives of the Ministry of
Education – Directorate General of the Support Sevices and with the consultancy
of the Middle East and North Africa Director of IASL, the conference was held
in İstanbul after long preparations. This conference was a first of its kind.
The conference was held in May 6-11, 2018 İstanbul, with the theme
“Information, Innovation and Impact of School Libraries” as the 47th annual
International Conference and the 22nd International Forum on Research in
School Libraries.
There were 150 participants from 32 countries.

Teoman Durali – Importance of Writing and Civilization
Diljit Singh – Making an Impact – You Can Do It
3 workshops were held:
2 workshops on Implementing the IFLA School Library Guidelines: Diane
Oberg, Katy Manck, Jennifer Branch, Albert Boekhorst.
Building Confidence Through Acting, CROW: Maria Piedad Alliende.
50 presentations were held. We received 22 papers.
